CRPA congratulates member Pooley Wines on winning 2023 Halliday Wine Companion Winery of the Year.
We’re immensely proud that our region is home to such an esteemed winery – indicative of the quality of the wine sector in the Coal River Valley.
Managing Director John Pooley said they were honored to receive this recognition, for themselves but also for Tasmania.
“Libby and I are thrilled to be receiving such a pinnacle accolade within the Australian wine industry on behalf of our family business and its members,” John said on receiving the award.
“Thirty-seven years ago, my retired parents planted a small block of pinot noir and riesling in the Coal River Valley in southeast Tasmania as a hobby.
“With vision, passion, and persistence, with the help of all of our staff, our two children, Matthew and Anna and their partners, we have powered ahead to reach this amazing level of achievement.”
